About the laboratory

Built for questions that start in the field.

Manzanita Research Laboratories was founded to close the distance between research produced in Ilorin and research that shapes policy and practice across Kwara State and beyond. We are a multidisciplinary institute, not a single-department lab — our researchers move between soil, water, materials, and clinical samples because the problems we study rarely stay inside one discipline.

Every programme we run is designed to produce evidence that a farmer, a clinician, a manufacturer, or a policymaker can actually use. That means fieldwork as rigorous as our bench work, and findings written to be read outside the lab, not just inside it.

Research programmes

Six active lines of inquiry.

Each programme is catalogued below the way a specimen would be — a working code, a scope, and a clear question. Reach out if any of these overlap with your work.

MRL-01

Haematology & Clinical Diagnostics

Full blood count and indices — PCV, Hb, RBC/WBC, MCV, MCH, MCHC, and differentials — run on a Sysmex haematology analyser.
